I was looking through old pictures the other night at my parents’ house and came across some hilariously embarrassing awesome photos of myself and my siblings…and I just have to share some of them. Consider this my Christmas gift to you wonderful people who read my blog. ;) :) Merry Christmas Eve!

Twas the night before Christmas, when Cait had a plan…
To show the world funny pics of her lovable fam.The fat one was looking so chubs and forlornSo the dog decided to stay with her til’ morn. The cute one was born with hair blonde and fair,

And made sure that his sister always knew he was there.Cait began baking and smirking so youngAnd her love for animals had only just begunThe billy goats loved her, but chased after the other. But on Christmas Bradford was still the best brother. They climbed trees and hiked mountains, they had adventures so grandThey made faces that made Mom put her face in her hand. The family posed pretty for pictures of four

Til’ God smited blessed them with one child more

The three grew up quickly, and became the best of friends

And today say, “Merry Christmas to all! This is the end!”

The weekend before my wedding, my brother Brad came with me to shoot another wedding…in New York. After we shot the wedding (which was awesome), we went to grab some food and walk around a bit. We stopped at some restaurant and feasted. I remember Brad starting to tell me about this girl. Her name was Sherree. She was a fantastic musician. Their first real date was at the circus. And he loved her. I started tearing up in the middle of my chicken strips and french fries because I’d never seen him talk like this before. I had lunch with the two of them a few days before I got married, and I texted Brad afterwards and said “Alright she’s a winner. Don’t mess this up.” Haha.

Fast forward 6ish – 7ish months. Brad began to call me approximately 1-4 times a day for about four weeks as he began to plan to pop the question. Haha. “Is the idea cute enough?” “Will you come look at rings with me?” “Can you come take pictures of me looking at the ring?” Precious-ness. Their whole story is cuter than I can adequately share, so read it here…at the website my super creative brother made for her: http://brad.sherree.us/

After their night at the nutcracker, a ride in a horse carriage, and a visit to tour their favorite architecturally awesome house downtown, Brad surprised her with a beautiful diamond ring that was custom made for her, and she said yes! Our family and Sherree’s parents came down to the house to take a couple pictures and to say congrats! :) I could not be more excited to see Brad so happy and have Sherree as my future sister-in-law! :)

Reenactment :)

Cutie pies. :)

The bling!

Best big brother.

Haha. I looooves them!

It’s time for another wedding in the Ulrich family! :) Go say congrats and creep on how cute they are on facebook. ;)

My baby sister was talking about her bucket list this week. Yes, baby 13-year old Alyssa has a bucket list! I think all that’s on hers right now is “swim with whales” though. Lol. I think making these lists is becoming a new trend. I’ve seen lots of new bucket list “wishes” on Pinterest lately, and it made me go track down my list I made years ago. It was before the movie “Bucket List” came out, so I titled it “My List of Things to Do Before I Die.” Cheery. Haha. I can’t remember how old I was when I wrote this…probably 17ish? Hence the absurd teenage feel of #10 and #11. Haha. (Andrew was both of those – don’t worry.) Most of the things on this list though are things I’d still like to do. I’ll now be accepting donations for all my world travels. ;)

Out of all 50, I’ve checked off 13. I’d like to get to 15 soon…mostly because 13 is a gross number. Haha. I guess I could check off #43 “Be a photographer.” Don’t know why I haven’t yet. And I’m pretty sure I rode in a limo in elementary school (#41) but I don’t remember much at all, so I want to go again where I can actually have a real memory. Haha. And I just realized “Go on a cruise” is on there twice…so I’ve got to add another. Suggestions? Lol.

Number 1 & 2 on my bucket list – tied for the best day of my life. :)

Tell me fun things on your bucket lists! :)

I love real Christmas trees. I was determined to have one for our first married Christmas  because my family has always had real trees, and some of my favorite memories are from our adventures getting them every year. Everyone runs around excitedly looking at a billion different trees until we all agree on one to bring home. Mom always chose the best, Brad was only concerned with the tree’s symmetry, Alyssa hated every one she didn’t choose, and Dad couldn’t wait to get home and have some coffee. (It’s almost like choosing a pet…that we throw away in a couple weeks…) And then we’d turn on Christmas music or a Christmas movie and decorate it to perfection. Turn on the fire, sit back and admire our handiwork. Sounds perfect, right? Maybe I’m exaggerating a tad.

Last night, Andrew & I ran to Wal-Mart. No trees. No white lights. We went to Ace Hardware. No trees. We took a break for a Pizza Hut dinner. We drove to Target to get lights. We went to Under the Sun…$60 trees. No, thank you. We decided not to drive all the way to the gas station on Memorial that had trees. We finally ended up at Lowe’s outside in 28 degree weather and ran around the lot to find the perfect tree. And we did. We took home a 5 foot $26 Douglas Fir. And it was beautiful. Then we realized we’d bought the wrong Christmas lights. We ran to Mom’s, but she couldn’t find the kind we needed. We ended up at Walgreens, bought the correct kind, and headed home again to make the tree perrrrfect. I couldn’t find the ornament hooks. I lost the remote for my camera. The tree needed to be trimmed some more. After about two hours of all this nonsense, we finally ended up with this. :)

Yes, yes, quite a beaut, eh?

And even though we were freezing and running around for three hours and ready to go to sleep, it will definitely go down in the “perfect” Christmas tree memories. ;)

If you’d like to watch us decorating the tree super fast…go here. :)

I know I’ve been MIA for a while now, but the Great Unending Sickness with a Fury of 2011 is coming to an end!! At least, I think it is. I woke up this morning still in an angry, frustrated panic because I couldn’t breathe out of my nose for the 9th day in a row. BUT, I got a bath. My sweet, sensible Mom brought me some Puffs with lotion tissues and orange juice, and I had some BACON for breakfast. And I think I feel better. I’m hoping I really am getting better and not just getting used to the ridiculousness that has been my life the past week. Haha. So today I’m cleaning and catching up on editing and everything else I’ve been unable to get done recently. I’ve got the heater going and Christmas music and I’m on the road to recovery. :) (Now everyone quickly say a prayer that Andrew doesn’t get sick the next couple weeks for finals. Haha. Thanks.)

In happier news…yesterday I went with Mom-in-law to help her decorate one of her houses she does for Christmas! Aside from sneakily blowing my nose every half hour or so and sounding like Kathleen Turner when I talked, it was UBER fun! It was a gorgeous house and of course Mom-in-law made it even prettier. She’s a magician. AND I got to play with a puppy! :) (Maybe that healed me.) Her name was Farrah, she was 5 months old, and liked to cuddle. She looked like this:

Minus the santa hat. Haha.

And tonight, Mom is making me chicken pot pie. Score.

Thank you, Lord. Here’s to everyone’s health and never getting a cold again. ;)

~Cait

Welp. This week was a colossal waste of time. :-/ I’ve been sick all week, and I’m still blowing my nose like crazy this morning. (Side note: I would rather be throwing up for an hour than be unable to breathe out of my nose…it is one of my top 3 most hated things on earth.) I had hoped December would be off to a better start. Lol. The day I wake up with a clear nose and no sore throat will be the best day everrrr! And I’ll celebrate with Longhorn Steakhouse.

Therefore, I have nothing exciting going on and nothing interesting to post. My apologies.

BUT. I will tell you what things are on my Christmas countdown to do the next few days and may appear on future blogs. We missed yesterday so I’m going to make us do that today if I’m feeling better.

December 1: Have a Christmas dance party
December 2: Watch Elf
December 3: Make Christmas cookies
December 4: Address Christmas cards (came in this week – SUPER excited to send them out)
December 5: Wrap some presents (truth be told, I wrapped most already because there was nothing else I could do this week)
December 6: Plan Christmas party (I know. It’s sad that I plan to plan.)
December 7: Watch Home Alone
December 8: Get a Christmas tree!

And now I wait for the Lord to heal my sniffling little self so I can enjoy my countdown. :)

Anyone have any killer cures for the common cold?
