Adventures with the Boswells

If you spend a day with Caitlin…

You’ll see where she works at her 2nd job. Her desk houses a slow PC computer, but more importantly – a Sonic drink.

When she’s not drinking Sonic, she’ll drink pink lemonade out of her favorite cup…while she plans in her turquoise planner.

You might get to go to Olive Garden with her and her husband, who eats the food too fast to capture on Cait’s crappy phone camera, because as we all know, the food is too delicious to eat slowly.

She might take your picture. She likes pictures. If you’re good looking, the chances she’ll take your picture increase.

She might take you to play with puppies…because, well, let’s face it. That’s Cait’s favorite thing ever. Don’t be alarmed if she’s depressed when you leave.

And lastly, if you spend a day with Cait, you’re bound to end up being ridiculous…or making sarcastic comments & laughing at ridiculous people. :)

I’m loving…

Free time! As much as I’m a non-winter person, I have to admit I’m enjoying the free time it’s brought me! I have been going to my 2nd job every day lately, but because I haven’t scheduled any photo shoots till February, I’ve had so much more free time in the afternoon/evening. I’ve gotten to work out almost every day for an hour and catch up on laundry and cleaning! I’m ready for spring weather and photo shoots to start back up, but I will miss not having to work at home!

Planning. Always have been, always will be a planner. I have four calendars in my home right now and two planners I use frequently. I also use my iPad’s calendar, and I make To Do lists and schedules nearly every. single. day. I bring my notebooks & planners to work with me and when I get a break, I can plan! :) Currently, I’m planning for Valentine’s Day, my birthday, Andrew’s birthday, our 1-year anniversary (DISNEYWORLD I’M SO FRIGGIN EXCITED), & planning for when we move in a few months! :D

Pinterest. I love Pinterest every day of the week. Recent favorites…

Working Out. I have LOVED the past few workouts, and I’m getting excited for looser-fitting clothes and the opportunity to buy new clothes! Haha. I’m getting there, slowly but surely. I’m going to try to eat really well & get down a few pounds by my birthday…because I will be eating cookie cake for my birthday. And maybe Coldstone.

My Familia! Andrew has class on Tuesday nights, so last night I went over to visit my family and have Mom’s super delicious parmasean chicken. Yum. Brad wound up coming over, and I watched as he, Mom, & Dad tried to put together the new TV stand for Dad’s new TV. Hysterical. Worm & I laughed and watched YouTube videos while they worked. ;)

My Best Friend. Lord knows this girl was meant to be my best friend. If I need a laugh or a prayer warrior, I don’t even have to ask. She completes me. Haha. :) I’m so thankful for such a Godly woman in my life!

Andrew. Seriously. This man works harder than anybody. He is constantly at work or at school or studying, and when he’s not doing those things, he’s busy being the best husband of all time! :)

And he makes awesome serious faces. ;)

Happy Wednesday!! Only two more days till the weekend!! :D

Last night….

I visited this cutie.

And this one. (And Mom & Dad, but I don’t have pictures of them.)

I played some of this.

And did some of this.
And I fell asleep after I admired my cute new Parisian print and how handsome the man I’m married to is. ;)

It’s been a while since I did random Mondays! Here’s how our weekend went:

Friday: I worked. Andrew worked. I worked out. We had date night at Olive Garden! We ate an unacceptable amount of breadsticks. (It’s ok. I worked out.) We intended to go to Banana Republic and use gift cards, but after that meal we were too full & tired…went home to snuggle and watch a movie…anyone remember this little gem??

Yeah. I was excited too. Until I remembered how heart-wrenching the beginning was! Poor Little Foot. I’m embarrassed that I cried so much. Lol. How could you not love Petrie & Ducky though?

Saturday: Andrew worked. Mom took Lys & I to see Sherlock Holmes 2 in the morning. It was my second time seeing it, and to my surprise it got even BETTER the second time around. Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law…no greater combo. :) After the movie, Lys & I went to PetSmart, Wal-Mart, and went to my parent’s house and watched Harry Potter 5 (Alyssa still needs to see the last ones). I spent most of it snuggling the dog. And Mom & Dad-in-law sent me this picture of some friends they met in a parking lot Saturday…

Sigh. :) Then Andrew came over and the three (four including Lexi) of us watched Jumanji & had pizza and Slims’ Chicken. :)

Sunday: We went to Resonate church in the morning, and went to Iron Star for Andrew’s Grandpa’s birthday with family. Andrew went to play basketball with the guys in the afternoon while I rested and Photoshopped. :) I’m working on a set of animal alphabet letters for my etsy shop…I’m thinking of skipping a few letters because I don’t want to use a “newt” for N and I can’t think of any other animals that start with N. Haha. And Q and X are obviously out. We’ll see how it turns out. Here are the ones I’ve done so far:

And we ended Sunday night with the movie Twister and some lemonade. :) In other news………strike that, I don’t think I have any other news. Haha. I’m off to work again today and counting down the hours till another weekend. ;)

Happy Monday!

Alright. I’m guessing this is pretty common, but I’d like to make sure.

Once upon a time, there was an average-sized 21-year old girl who was engaged to be married to a handsome blonde 22-year old boy. Nearly days after their engagement, she started to work out and eat better. Engagement pictures were coming and wedding dress appointments could not happen if she was not skinnier! She lost several pounds. And rejoiced. Several months later, she was still working out and eating healthy. No more ice cream or chocolate for this young maiden – her meals consisted of triscuits and cheese and carrots and the like. She refused Ted’s, and shook her head to offers of Coldstone, and though her mind and heart were deeply saddened by the lack of these delicious foods, her tummy got smaller, and her body got stronger! She lost nearly 15 pounds by the time her wedding day came! She was ever so thrilled, and enjoyed fitting in her wedding dress without dying. ;)

She honeymooned in Cancun with her husband, and was taken back by the excessive amount of free food! The newlyweds dined five three times a day, and were delighted to discover that room service was also free….24 hours a day!! So the two of them ate…and ate…and ate. When they returned to their home and started their new life together, the young bride tried to make some healthy meals. And she did. But then, a great curse fell upon her and she uncontrollably started eating every food she had missed while she was preparing for her wedding. She grabbed two candy bars at the checkout line, and drank chocolate milk like it was water. She went to Coldstone and Ted’s and McDonald’s – oh my! And the small body she once had started to grow. There was no turning back…at least, not until 7 months after her wedding.

Sound familiar to any married ladies? Haha. Confession: I’ve gained back TEN pounds since we got married. :( It’s horrifying. But obviously with New Year and just a general utter disgust with myself lately, I’ve resolved to get back in shape before summer. Target has swimsuits out already…and it’s time. I’m going back to being smaller and healthier. I’ve done several workouts already this month, but I had a super awesome really long workout yesterday and I. loved. it. I’m hoping for tons more like it, and so far – I’m ice cream free this week. ;) Time to get fit.

I made this in photoshop to hang on my wall in my office. Or in every room for a reminder. Haha.

Now. Please for the love of all things tell me I’m not the only one who’s gained that much weight after their wedding…and someone give me hope and tell me you got back down to pre-wedding shape months after you got married?

Sincerely,

A Food-Crazed Bride ;)

A few months ago, I saw a picture on pinterest (shocker) of a jar that had tiny, folded papers squished inside it and suggested the idea of writing down random memories throughout the year and reading them New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. Although I found it in October with only a few months to New Year’s, I still decided it would be fun to try.

Here’s the picture from Pinterest. I don’t have a picture of ours because we just emptied it and started on 2012 memories.

To my great surprise, I enjoyed this little project even more than I thought I would! It was nice to have an actual record of small, daily things without having to journal every day. I haven’t had time to journal, so it’s a nice alternative that takes me only a minute to write down. Most memories were funny ones, but some were just things I wanted to remember. Andrew & I read them New Year’s Day and got quite a kick out of them…especially the ones we’d already forgotten. I’m excited to do more for 2012. We might need more than one jar though. This year, I’m going to try to remember to put the date on all of them.

Here’s a few of my favorites from this year. Sorry they’re so poorly written – they’re usually written in a hurry. :)

Happy Wednesday! :)

I saw this on another blog, and I liked the questions. :)

Nickname? Cait to most. Weeber to Dad.

Favorite food? Currently? Anything I’m not allowed to eat on my diet. Usually? Alfredo pizza…Pizza hut pizza…french fries…chicken pot pie…ice cream…chocolate…the list goes on and on. And Longhorn salad. I love Longhorn’s salad.

Favorite movie? Oh dear. Can I have 10? Pride & Prejudice, Ocean’s Eleven, We Bought a Zoo, Phantom of the Opera, While You Were Sleeping, Jurassic Park, MI: Ghost Protocol (GO SEE IT), Count of Monte Cristo, Finding Nemo, & Homeward Bound…ok give me one more – The Fugitive. Just kidding, I want another – Sweet Home Alabama.

Dogs or cats? DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS. Dogs. Really, dogs.

What did you want to be when you grew up? A zookeeper first (still do), an archaeologist and writer, a Sea World trainer, wildlife photographer, and a stay-at-home wife/mom.

What makes you happy? Many, many things! Jesus. Andrew. Family. Dogs. Photos. My iPad. Diet Coke. Longhorn Steakhouse. Piano. Church. German Shepherds. Old Funny People. Turquoise things. Animals. Ice Cream. Pizza. Salad. Rain. Warm blankets. Target. The Zoo. Summertime. Movies. Enough? Lol.

What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Eat. I eat very differently. Haha. I’m far too picky, but I blame my tastebuds. :-P

Where would you most like to go and why? Either Hawaii or Australia. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii and go hiking in Kauai. And Australia seems like the happiest place on earth. Awesome accents, cool buildings and beaches, and cute animals. Haha. Africa’s also on my list.

What small act of kindness were you once shown that you will never forget? Small act? Hm. One time in high school, it was pouring rain and I was rushing to the door. A boy I barely knew was several feet away from the door inside, but I saw him rush to open the door for me. It was the sweetest. Gentlemen are few these days!

Where else would you like to live and why? COLORADO. It’s the most beautiful state ever and I’m obsessed with it. I would also consider living in Oregon or Montana…or Florida…or Australia. ;)

What would you do with a million dollars? Whew. Tough one. I’d buy a cute ranch for Andrew & me with three horses and hire somebody to help me take care of them. I’d buy Mom a horse, Alyssa some goats, and Dad a year’s supply of coffee or maybe his own Dunkin’ Donuts shop. Brad…I don’t know what I’d buy Brad. Haha. A trip to Europe or some J Crew gift cards? Mom and Dad-in-law would get shopping sprees to TJ Maxx and lots of gift cards to Ted’s & Hideaway, and Tanner would get a new truck. I’d buy Andrew & me a German shepherd puppy and a golden retriever puppy. Or maybe five of each. ;) I’d give some money to my fabulous church, and use some to go on a mission trip to Africa and also a safari while I’m there! Then if I had some leftover, I’d go to Australia and then Hawaii with Andrew and both our families and all our best friends. :)

From your greatest imagination, describe your life in ten years. Andrew & I have a German shepherd named Jack who’s getting old. We buy a golden retriever puppy to help keep Jack young, and we name him Charlie. We have 4-year old twin blond-haired, blue-eyed boys. Andrew is a legendary CPA ;) and I have begun to work at the zoo part-time and only do photography when I feel like it or for people I know, and I no longer shoot weddings. I’m too busy cleaning my cute ranch house (with a pool) and taking pictures of my kids, who are insanely cute, smart, and athletic for 4-year olds, and I spend my free time (when they’re at pre-K) working at the zoo with seals, tigers, lions, and the dolphins OKC recently added. ;) Hahaha. I dream big.

Sigh. Time for a nap. :)

I didn’t get a chance to blog yesterday on her actual birthday because of work, but guess who’s 14 years old now?? This girl.

Yes. My baby sister is 14. :( In every other aspect of life, I’m always looking forward and getting excited or counting down for the next thing…except with her. I’d like to keep her as little as possible for as long as possible, and it frustrates me that I can’t.

Andrew & I sneaked over to fill her bathroom with balloons the night before her birthday so she’d wake up to her favorite color.

I’m so proud of the crazy little humorous chef she’s become, and I couldn’t ask for a better little sister and best friend. Love you Wormy! :) Happy birthday!!

First things first. I’ve never understood the expression “working like a dog.” I love the Beatles, but when have you ever seen a dog work? Run around like crazy? Yes. Work? No.

Ahem. It feels like forever since I’ve blogged! January is one of my slowest months photography-wise (I’m ready for things to be pretty outside again!), so I’ve been going to my 2nd job every weekday possible to bring in some extra money. I basically sit at a desk and type all day, while occasionally playing Words with Friends when I’m waiting for the copier to finish. Mom’s there to laugh at my jokes, look at my Pinterest finds, and buy me Sonic drinks. It’s nice. :) However, I feel like I haven’t done anything super exciting or blog-worthy since I’ve been at work so much!

SO I thought I’d blog about some exciting things I have coming up! You guys know I love planning and a good countdown.

60 days till we can start house hunting! Our lease is up on April 30th, so we’ll need a house to move into May 1st! We’re gonna look for a cute little house to rent that’s pet-friendly so I can get my dog this fall (hopefully). If anyone knows any particularly great landlords or people looking to rent their house around April/May, send them my way! ;)

65 days till my 22nd birthday! I would love some suggestions of what to do…right now I’m thinking I’d like to go to Remington and see a horse race? Or go to the zoo? Or get a massage? Suggestions please?

102 days till Andrew’s 23rd birthday! I can’t tell you my plans for his birthday yet because he occasionally reads my blog. ;) I’ve got some good ideas! I can’t believe he’s gonna be 23. What a grandpa. :)

112 days till we move into previously mentioned undetermined rent house. YAY!

131 days till we are on our way to Disney World! I can’t believe our 1-year anniversary is coming so quickly. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating at the boathouse and living it up in Cancun. Sigh. BUT we’re heading to Orlando, Florida to go to Disney World on our actual anniversary day, and hopefully spend the next day at Universal Studios and relaxing at our hotel. The pool there has a giant pirate ship in the middle with a slide. Kids at heart.

Have an unbelievably marvelous Tuesday! :)

~Cait

The woes of dieting…they are consuming me, and it’s only day 4. I’m typing this blog post solely to avoid the urge of running to my kitchen to stand in front of my fridge and search for something mildly appetizing. I miss my Reese’s and my pizza and my french fries. Anyone else having withdrawals?

My recent struggles have made me curious to know your hardest New Year’s resolutions! Tell me tell me tell me!

And in other news…here’s what’s going on according to my cell phone pictures from the last week. Popcorn chicken is back at Sonic! *angels sing* *heavens rejoice* *Caitlin shouts for joy* It may not be the healthiest thing…but if I only eat that for lunch? I could pass it off as acceptable.

I got this beauty for half price at Petsmart. :)

Here’s one of my Christmas presents from my best friend Kristi. Doesn’t my calendar look OH so cute inside of it!? Loves loves loves.

I got another cute calendar (I own like 4 now…I’m in love with all of them haha) from my super precious grandma, and was thrilled to see what picture this month was. ;)

Bought this little gem yesterday at TJ Maxx. I’m already planning all new colors/ideas for when we move in a few months…:)

And last but not least…If you don’t have access to a dog that loves to snuggle, I pity you, and implore you to go buy one. This sweet pup is my therapist.

Have a fabulous evening my loves! :)
