Happy Mother’s Day to the two most wonderful Moms I know!

mom01

To my beautiful superhero of a mother who raised me to love Jesus, chocolate, and working out…you are the very best. Thank you for the constant Sonic drinks, encouragement, and for always listening to me babble. I don’t know what I would do without you. You are the most inspiring person, and I am so grateful to be your daughter!! Love you love you love you Mama!

mom02

And to my adorable Mom-in-law…I never guessed I would enjoy my in-laws so much. :) Thank you for taking me in like one of your own and spoiling me entirely too much! I am so thankful for you and for our shopping trips and Longhorn dates. You are wonderful, and I love you!

And Happy Mother’s Day to all you precious moms and moms-to-be! I am in awe of every single one of you…seriously. Motherhood scares me to death. Well done, ladies. ;)

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

I’m getting close to nothing done on this sleepy post-cookie-cake-coma Monday…I’m fairly certain I’ve never napped so much in one day. I’m off to be really productive. ;)

Let’s show you some Valentine’s Day 2013 highlights. A day that began with my car not starting, but ended with Coldstone for dinner. Win. ;)

VDAY02

I don’t know if there is a greater thing on the planet than breakfast. I made Hubs some cinnamon rolls and naturally, I had a pancake. An extra chocolate-y one.  ;)

VDAY01

Puppy was looking so festive!

IMG_2593

My first gift from Andrew was given the night before V-day, and we watched it both nights. Lol. I adore this movie. I’m positive that Daniel Craig is the coolest man to ever walk the planet. I’m currently searching for his wardrobe to duplicate for Andrew.

VDAY05

My 2nd gift from Andrew was a pedicure! And it was heavenly. Perhaps the best four words to ever be put together are “hot towel foot massage.”

VDAY04

“Grand Canyon Sunset” by OPI, in case you’re curious. ;)

VDAY06

IMG_2678

Andrew got some yummy goodies from me (that sparkling cider came from a set of miniature bottles, so it’s far more impressive than it looks, I assure you), and he got a frame with a super cute picture from Jackers. :)

VDAY10

I’m spoiled. :)

VDAY03

I’m so excited to watch the rest of my lilies bloom! They smell so good.

VDAY07

I visited my other valentine Kristi Belle at work before lunch. She was rocking her red high heels and lookin’ fly. ;)

VDAY08

Mom-in-law took me to lunch at Longhorn.

VDAY09

Sigh. :)

Yes. Andrew & I planned to have dinner at Longhorn (I could eat there for every meal), but the wait ended up being 2 hours and they don’t do reservations, so we opted to get his steakhouse burger to go, and I had a Peanut Butter Cup Perfection from Coldstone for dinner. :) So romantic, I know. ;) Hahaha.

VDAY11

And we got our craft on and made some cutesy sharpie mugs. :) This one is obviously mine. I couldn’t get a good picture of Andrew’s, but it says, “You’re gonna need a bigger mug.” Bahaha. Movie quote man. ;)

Our Mamas also spoiled us with gift cards and candy and goodness. I’ve got far too many Reese’s in my house right now.

And this wasn’t a Valentine’s gift, but Mom got me this last week, and I just about died of glee.

VDAY12

Happy Monday loves! :)

Sometimes, when you’ve been in a relationship with someone for so long, you can forget how incredibly fortunate you are to be in that relationship.

When June 2013 gets here, I will have known this strikingly handsome man for six years. SIX YEARS. That is basically a fourth of my life. (P.S. Ironically, that suddenly makes me feel young.)

a

Sometimes I wish I could go back and relive every moment I spent with him when we were young, awkward little teenagers. ;) I remember being completely and totally enamored with this blonde boy and his obsession with movies, his constant need for cereal, and his remarkable sweetness in the way he treated me. I had never experienced such a gentleman before. We were cheesy, we were always together, and I have no doubt we annoyed 9 out of 10 people we encountered. I’m okay with that. We probably still annoy everyone, but I don’t care. He’s cute and I like him. ;)

And today, six years down the road, on our sixth Valentine’s Day, I love him more than I knew was possible. I find the stages of marriage humorous, particularly the stage where each of you realizes the other one isn’t ever leaving, so you both establish the fact that you can be as weird as you want…because you’re stuck with them. ;) Sorry, Hubs. You’re stuck with me. :)

Love you so very much, darling. Thanks for dating me even before I had bangs. Thank you for dealing with my picky eating, and for embracing my utter obsession with pizza and chocolate. Thanks for taking Jack out for me in the mornings when it’s cold. Thank you for surprising me with hot fudge sundaes. You are my very best friend, and I am so thankful for every day I’ve had to call you mine. :)

And let’s all take a moment and each thank God that Caitlin & Andrew don’t look like this anymore…particularly Caitlin. ;)

198_1006713535044_1550_n

Circa 2008. I could hardly bring myself to post it, it hurts so bad. Lol.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! So thankful for each and every one of you!

Oh, and Jack says Happy Valentine’s Day too. ;)

2013 is off to a fun start. :)

NY01

Here’s essentially what happened New Year’s Eve. Except pretend that Dark Knight Rises is on the TV more than the New Year’s Eve countdown, because that’s more accurate. ;)

NY002

Top row: Hubs and I had an Olive Garden feast with Tanner & his girlfriend Gabby New Year’s night, and I bought a cute new pillow at TJ Maxx. :)

Middle row: One of my super cute Christmas presents from best friend! And Jackers. Spoiled rotten. And Alyssa and I had a Cici’s and shopping day. :)

Bottom row: Just a third of my haul from Old Navy…cable-knit sweater, sparkly shirt, and a new running hoodie. (Hit up Old Navy if you haven’t yet…they’re having some killer sales.)

-

Andrew & I didn’t really make any resolutions this year, and certainly nothing specific, but we did talk a little bit about what kind of year we’d like 2013 to be.

Obviously, we want to eat healthier and exercise more. Is there a single person in America who doesn’t put that on their resolution/goal list every new year? Lol. Our other goal for this year is to be more consistent in our time with the Lord and be more intentional in our service and interaction with others. Our verse for the year is 1 Corinthians 15:58.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” -1 Corinthians 15:58-

Did you guys make any resolutions or goals? How’s 2013 going so far? I’d love to hear! :)

Firstly…Happy New Year!! :) I hope you all had a fabulous and safe New Year’s Eve! We laid low and spent the night at my parents’ house watching Dark Knight Rises and basking in the glory of Christian Bale. And we had pizza and fudge. Win win. ;)

It’s hard to believe this party was just two weeks ago…I feel like we’ve been trapped inside the sickly days for weeks! Poor Hubs caught something (not from me!) and got a sore throat last week and is just now getting over it. Can we all agree to NEVER GET SICK IN 2013!?!

Ahem.

Here’s some highlights from our Christmas party we had two weekends ago with our sweet friends. It was a much-needed night of hilarity, fellowship, and good food. :) (We did miss my dearest BFF who got sick the night before. :-/ But we sent her a get well card!)

I didn’t take any pictures of the food or our decorations because we had so much fun using our photo booth!!! I’m proud to say I made this little set up all by myself, including the props. ;) We had a blast with it. Click on the pictures to see them bigger. Enjoy!

Here’s to 2013. Happy New Year loves! :)

~Cait

Wow. Forgive my long absence from the blog and the lack of “merry Christmas” wishes!! Today is the first day I actually feel normal again. Lol. Let me explain.

Sunday morning, I mentioned to Andrew how excited I was to have made it to Christmas this year without getting sick! I get sick almost every single December…a lot of times, on Christmas day, and it’s terribly depressing. This year I got a cold in September and thought that would count as my yearly cold and I’d be safe. I took my echinacea and vitamin C and drank lots of water leading up to Christmas…but on Sunday night, I felt it coming. Andrew, Alyssa, and I went to Johnny Carino’s for dinner to try to infuse my system with garlic…their garlic dipping sauce for their bread is divine. ;)

But sure enough, I woke up Monday morning unable to breathe out of both nostrils. And if you know me well at all, you know I would rather be vomiting for three days than to spend one day unable to breathe out of my nose properly. It annoys me that much. So Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and the day after Christmas were mostly spent in bed for me, blowing my nose, popping my ears, and crying because I was so angry to be sick on Christmas. Hahaha. It was the worst cold I’ve ever had, and I promise I’m not just a baby. ;-P

We DID get to go to the candlelight service at church Christmas Eve (I just brought tissues and cut out early when I felt sick LOL), and we opened presents at Mom and Dad-in-laws’ that night along with brother-in-law. We trekked to my parents Christmas morning with Jackers (and boy was he in a mood), and most of that morning I felt like I was in a fog. But we did get lots of fabulous gifts from both sides. ;) After we left my parents, I felt achy and all I could think about was my bed, so I told Andrew to go to his family’s Christmas, and I celebrated in my own way…by napping for four hours and waking up to watch Iron Will as I drank my orange juice and downed my meds. It was pretty sucky. Haha. BUT I feel pretty great today. Finally. :) It’s been a slow week, but I’m glad it’s pretty much over. This morning, I woke up able to breathe. I’ll take it. :)

SO. I can’t even catch you all up in one blog post about the past week, so I’ll just post pictures are pretend we’re caught up, mmk? :) I will do a separate post to tell you about our super cute Christmas party we had the weekend before Christmas…but there would be over 40 pictures if I tried to combine that with this post, so for now, just enjoy the bits of Christmas I managed to get on camera in my sick stupor. ;)

blog2012C01b

Andrew and I opened our presents for each other Christmas Eve morning…I needed a pick-me-up. ;)

blog2012C02b

Best. Show. Ever. We may or may not have already watched that whole season.

blog2012C01

blog2012C02

Jack likes nerdy financial books too. ;)

blog2012C03

Opening his biggest gift… :)

blog2012C04

YAY Thunder!! :) Haha. We took Mom and Dad-in-law with us Thursday night and the game was epic.

blog2012C05b

I got an impressive haul from my stocking. Hubs rocks. ;)

blog2012C05c

I won’t post many pictures of me because, let’s face it. I was looking rough. But I love this pic of Jackers sniffing out my new jammies. :) haha.

blog2012C05

Hands down, my favorite gift. :D Hubs rocked the gift giving this year.

blog2012C06

Mom-in-law’s tree belongs on Pinterest. ;)

blog2012C07

Brother-in-law getting in the Christmas spirit.

blog2012C08

blog2012C09

We were super excited about Dad-in-law’s gift from us. :)

blog2012C10

Can you see Allie helping Mom-in-law open her gifts?

blog2012C11

Try not to look at me. Lol.

blog2012C12

Allie was tuckered out by the end of the night.

blog2012C13

I loved Mom’s tree this year!

blog2012C15

And her table was super festive too. :) I was SO bummed to miss out on her pancakes…I didn’t eat much while sick, but on the plus side, I lost three pounds. ;) Hahaha.

blog2012C14

Brad & Sherree opening gifts. :)

blog2012C16

Alyssa. Being Alyssa.

blog2012C17

Dad wasn’t feeling well either, so I don’t have any good pictures of him. :( The Ulrichs…we’re cursed! :-P

blog2012C18

Jacky Boy needed a Christmas bow to cheer me up. :)

blog2012C20

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with lots of family, friends, and food! :) I’ve got lots of posts lined up now that I’m feeling well again, so be prepared. ;) :)

~Cait

Let’s play catch up, shall we? It’s less than a week until Christmas and I really should be finishing my shopping and wrapping and getting ready for our Christmas party…but I’m at work, so I’ll blog. ;)

blogCU01

I had Johnny Carino’s with the fam Sunday, and Worm and I relished in the glory of their bread.

blogCU07

And then they got a tree…and Alyssa apparently felt the need to prove her strength.

blogCU05

Jack and I chilled by the Christmas tree.

blogCU04

Handsome Hubs took me to Longhorn. :) I can’t even handle my love for this salad. And Hubs.

blogCU08

Best friend came over to make cookies and entertain the dog last night. :)

blogCU06

I’ve been working a lot lately, so in the early mornings I try to cherish some pup snuggles. :)

blogCU03

Puppy dog eyes. Killer. I wuv him.

Happy Tuesday!
