Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to the two best Dads I know! I am so blessed to have both of you in my life.

To my Superhero: Lord knows I could not have hoped to make it in this world without your wisdom, guidance, and hysterical dry humor and wit. I am so proud to be your little girl. Thank you for working so hard, for sacrificing so much to give me so much, and for teaching me the important things in life…Jesus, basketball, and good food. You are the greatest Dad and the funniest friend, and I’m so thankful for all you do for me. I’m proud to be exactly like you, because we are hilarious geniuses. ;) Thank you for bestowing on me your sense of adventure, love of food, and the famous smirk. Love you so, so much Daddy!

And to my hilarious Dad-in-law: I could not have asked for a better father-in-law, or for a better person to raise my husband! I am so thankful to be a part of your family and share in your humor of love of food. ;) Thank you for taking such good care of us and for being such a good example for Andrew. Thank you for randomly mowing our lawn and buying us dinner and chasing and bonding with our psychotic dog. ;) We are so thankful for all you do and for the time we get to spend with you. Love you so much!

You are the best Dad to Jackers, and I know you’ll be the best Dad to our future babies. Let’s not talk anymore about that though because I’ll faint from fear. ;)

Blessings

Today, I’m feeling extra thankful for two of my favorite people and my favorite fur ball.

I’m married to this ridiculously handsome man. He makes me laugh every day, and I am pretty sure I’m the luckiest. He works super hard, prays with me, and buys me cookie cake. And he took me to see Man of Steel last night, IHOP for breakfast this morning, and took me to the zoo today. WINNER. (P.S. Man of Steel was amazing…still sitting here in awe of Russell Crowe’s acting and Henry Cavill’s jawline.)

And this girl. Allow me to brag for a moment. She is the most fabulous best friend on the planet and is such an encouragement to me. I am so thankful for how God brought us into each other’s lives at the perfect time. We have such a great camaraderie based on Jesus, laughter, pictures, and good food. She is a lovely friend for life, and I look forward to the days when we’re pushing babies in strollers around the zoo and being judged by everyone who sees how many photos we’re taking. ;)

And Lord knows I can’t even imagine what life would be like without this fur ball. He has become the most snuggly little nugget, and I adore him and his 85-pound cuddles. :)

San Antonio

There just is nothing better than vacation.

The only downside to vacation is missing this little nugget, who was not pleased to see my suitcase out last Friday.

We left Friday after Andrew got off work and drove all the way to San Antonio for a late anniversary celebration getaway.

Roadtrips. WE LOVE THEM.

Saturday morning breakfast…complete with waffles shaped like Texas.

And toast and breakfast potatoes!

If ever there was a place that seemed like it was designed for Caitlin, it would have to be Sea World. Half theme park, half zoo. Whole happy. ;)

We loved the shark exhibit…maybe we’ve been watching Jaws too much, but we find them fascinating!

My life goals have changed. Now all I want to do in life is ride a beluga whale.

And train dolphins.

Speaking of dolphins…

They are my absolute favorites…happiest little things!

Can you see the Caitlin joy? I am in my happy place! Minus the fish. Fish are nasty.

We ended the day with the Shamu show. Every time I go to Sea World, my childhood dreams of being a Sea World trainer are reborn…think I can get Andrew to move to San Antonio or Orlando? ;)

I want one.

Sweet husband, you are the cutest there ever was. Thanks for buying me a plush killer whale.

Meet Russell.

Saturday night we went out for dinner on the Riverwalk, which is essentially a super cute, random river jungle with a plethora of restaurants.

Sunday morning was spent on the Riverwalk again, getting some exercise and taking pictures with less people in the background. ;)

On the way home, we stopped for lunch in Austin, where street artists are really channeling their inner elegance. Hahaha.

Hubs got his favorite, Potbelly’s!

And I got my favorite. Pizza, of course.

We had a blast, but we are happy to be home snuggling this nugget!

He seems pretty tired today…all that playing with Lexi and Grandma & Grandpa wore him out. :)

And today is definitely a Monday after vacation. Boring, dieting, and blah. ;) I’m looking forward to getting back into my running this week and working on that summer list! :)

2 Year Shoot

We were a little late setting up a shoot due to an excess of busy in the Boswell household, but I’m in love with how our 2-year anniversary shoot came out!

I literally have the best friend in the world. Kristi comes with me to 2nd shoot on almost all my weddings, and sometimes we shoot each other just for fun. It’s kinda awesome to be best friends AND photographers because we each get to document each other’s lives. :)

I got a little crafty the day of the shoot.

True story: we left this gorgeous field after about 2 minutes because we started finding a ton of nasty little ticks on us and we had a minor panic attack. Lol. There’s often a curse on pretty fields I find…

Shorts and shoes from Target, shirt from Old Navy. I have no idea where Andrew’s clothes are from, but he be looking fiiiine. ;)

Love. Him.

My dad’s car is legendary. A certain paranoia comes over me each (rare) time I’m allowed to borrow it, and I drive 5 miles under the speed limit (even though that’s a heinous and ridiculous thing to do in a corvette) just in case. He was gracious enough to lend us his baby for this shoot. ;)

I think ^ this one is my favorite.

I’d Rather Be…

Today, I’m at home. I’m dieting after all the food I ate yesterday, and I’m working. Editing is essentially my life during wedding season. Staring at the computer all day certainly drains me. BUT, it is definitely a blessing compared to most desk and cubicle jobs…I can work in my pajamas with a diet wild cherry pepsi and have Jaws playing on my old school VHS player. And every time my eyes begin to hurt from staring at a screen for so long, I take a break to snuggle with a German shepherd. Not a bad life. ;)

However…here’s what I’d rather be doing right now.

I’d rather be in Colorado with this dude.

Or hiking there with these folks.

I’d rather be cruising. And let’s be real…eating cruise food.

I’d rather be at the zoo with Andrew watching him make this face at the zoo misters.

I’d rather be taking pictures in a field of flowers with these cuties.

Or snuggling this munchkin.

I’d rather be having an epic water balloon fight.

Or swimming with and being smooched by a dolphin.

I’d rather be eating pancakes!

Or eating this pizza.

Or this pizza. ;) Lol.

I’d rather be taking pictures with my boys in our backyard.

I’d MUCH RATHER be in Cancun with Hubs. And be tan again.

I’d rather be at the zoo watching this sassy seal.

I would give my right arm to be at Friendly’s eating a Reese’s sundae right now.

Life in iPhone Photos

Because I am really cool, I bought German shepherd air fresheners.

…to match my German shepherd.

Andrew is my favorite. He bought me a running arm band for our anniversary! Now I feel official when I run. ;)

Super. Cute. Boys.

We crossed off one of the activities on our summer list last week and paid a visit to Pops!

So many options.

We are boring and got diet cherry coke and root beer. :)

Jack is still doing a great job of guarding the house.

He is not, however, enjoying car rides…especially car rides that take him to get a bath.

This fabulous lady comes with me on almost every wedding I shoot and assists me like a rockstar. And because we work so hard, we feast after with chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and Reese’s toppings. ;) (P.S. I’m three weddings down, five to go for the summer, and that means pretty pictures soon…especially from this past weekend’s festivities!)

I ran three miles outside for the first time ever. I need to hire someone to be waiting at my finish line with a slice of cookie cake next time.

Aaaand this isn’t from my iPhone, but it’s going in this post anyway. Just want to brag on the extreme good looks of my handsome men. ;)

Anniversary Adventures

What a fabulous 2 years I have had being married to this guy. :)

We began our anniversary at midnight. At IHOP. Obviously, we needed pancakes to be a part of our celebration. ;) And it was fun to check that off my “23 while 23″ list.

Andrew had a belgian waffle and eggs, and I had chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and hashbrowns.

Glory, glory. Hallelujah.

On our actual anniversary morning, Andrew headed to work and I spent the morning with Mom, getting some stuff to our church for the tornado victims.

That early evening, we headed to a lovely dinner at Red Rock!

It’s a fabulous little place on Lake Hefner that serves that most delicious rotisserie chicken. ;)

Handsome, handsome, handsome. :)

Smirking… because I’m about to eat chicken. ;)

We also consumed a plate of chips at a record pace.

More glory. More hallelujahs. ;)

No, neither of us finished.

After dinner, we headed to see Star Trek again, because we loved it that much.

I also got these beauties yesterday. :)

AND our “real” anniversary plans are going to happen in a couple weeks when I have my first free weekend without a wedding. ;) We’re roadtripping to San Antonio and spending a day at Sea World. :D

Side note: anniversaries are kinda weird. Or maybe I’m just weird… They make me feel so flippin’ old! It’s hard to comprehend how quickly our first two years of marriage have flown, and I’m desperately trying to hang on to every waking day. Someone with great wisdom, give me the secret to making life move unbelievably slow. ;)

2 Years Ago Today

**Before I go into my anniversary spiel, just want to let you all know that we are safe, but you need to keep praying for Oklahoma, especially the city of Moore! Last night’s post has links where you can donate, or you can text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to help with disaster relief. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! God is good, and our precious little state is getting an opportunity to show others His love and glorify Him.**

Two years ago today, I picked up my best friend, and I’m fairly certain we screamed the whole way to our church.

I met this handsome man under a willow tree…

…and I married him in the church I grew up in.

We had the greatest parents to support us…

…and the cutest friends to stand by us.

And I had one of the best (and fastest) days of my life.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years already. I couldn’t ask for a better person to spend the rest of my years with, and I’m still so very much in love with you, husband. ;) You are the best friend I’ve ever had, and in light of recent events, I’m even more thankful to be holding you safe and sound in my arms. I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for us. Thank you for loving me past my faults and food obsessions. Thank you for doing dishes and laundry on days when I don’t feel like it. Thank you for supporting my insanity and love for adventure. You are my greatest adventure, Andrew. :)
