Hawaii – Part II – Thanksgiving

It was a little odd to be in a different state for the week of Thanksgiving…no less a state across an ocean with a four hour time difference and 80 degree weather. But Thanksgiving was glorious nonetheless. ;)

After some airport shenanigans and some killer airport food, we arrived Wednesday night.

It was dark about 5 minutes after we landed, and we couldn’t really see anything, so Thanksgiving morning was extra special…we woke up to mountains and the beach outside our balcony!

If you look at this ^ one closely, you can see Mom-in-law out on our balcony.

The first thing on our agenda for Thursday morning was an airplane ride that Andrew and I booked. The weather was PERFECT, and we were so glad we spent the extra money to go. The views were stunning!

Headsets just really make you feel more official.

Here’s Andrew with our pilot Josh. If you’re ever in Kauai, look up Wings Over Kauai and fly with them! We had a blast.

After the families picked us up, we all headed to the beach! Hanalei is a cute little town we visited a few times, and Hanalei Bay is where we spent the majority of our beach time.

We finished Thanksgiving Day with a less traditional Thanksgiving dinner at a place called Plantation Gardens with the whole family. It was such a pretty restaurant!
