A Merry Little Photo Shoot

For starters, welcome to any of you new readers who have found yourselves on this blog through a series of Pinterest clicks! Glad to have you! :) I’ve noticed a little boom in the stats lately due to people searching for Christmas shoot ideas and advice for taking family pictures with a dog. I think today’s post may help those of you still brainstorming! ;)

We have a whole new heap of holiday photos thanks to my very best friend, Kristi Michele. We’ve been taking pictures together (and of each other) for the past six years, and I am eternally thankful for her willingness to hop behind my camera and shoot our Christmas card photos! We’re rather skilled at tripod and remote shots by now, but it’s so much easier to not have to run back and forth to check the camera every few shots…especially with a hyper pup and a distracting set up. ;) This year’s main prop was my brother-in-law’s red truck! After Jack stopped barking at it, everything went pretty well. Haha.

I love him.

Taking pictures of Jack pretty frequently throughout the year has helped him become a champion at posing. It takes us a while to calm him after a car ride, but once we get going – he’s GOLD.

I have a feeling this one below is the Christmas card photo…what do you think? :)

We put Jack in a red scarf at last year’s shoot too, but I couldn’t resist making him wear it again for this year. He looks so dapper. ;)

Aside from jumping over the side once to chase a stick, Jack did pretty well staying in the truck bed.

Luckily, he loves his Aunt Kristi and was happy to look at her while she snapped away. :)

After a quick outfit change, we took a few more to get some fall-looking shots.

I am so glad I’ve made Jack wear multiple hats/outfits/etc. over the two years he’s been alive, because now he doesn’t even fight it. Bahaha.

I love this one. :)
