Mother’s Day Brunch

This week has been one of the busiest weeks of the year work-wise, but I am SO FLIPPIN EXCITED it’s Friday and so ready for the end of this month. We celebrate our 5-year anniversary next weekend (YEP it’s been that long), and we’ll be living it up in Colorado the weekend after that! I’m telling myself over and over again that the busy days will eventually slow down. Let’s just say I could use a nap. ;)

Sometimes it feels like I only blog after holidays or birthdays haha, but once I get past this crazy month, I’m hoping I can be a little more consistent. :) For now, let’s play catch up again!

We had all our favorite mamas over last Sunday for a Mother’s Day brunch! We had pancakes, donuts, watermelon, breakfast casserole, quiche, and a biscuit bar! And a side of diabetes.

md01

We had to get creative fitting 18 people in our kitchen. ;)

md07

I saw some bouquets similar to these on Pinterest and thought it would be a cute way to do place cards for the moms! They each got to take home their little picture bouquet.

md06

Pretend that Alyssa’s famous gravy is in that empty grey bowl. It was still being cooked to perfection when this picture was taken. ;)

md11

md08

md09

Andrew and I repeatedly thank the Lord and count our lucky stars for these families. We are so blessed that they get along so well!

md10

Backyard family portraits, because I’m Caitlin.

md12

md13

I love my sweet mama-in-law!

md15

Ahem. This man is freaking wonderful.

md14

md17

Can we talk about how cute my aunt and uncle and cousins are? And they didn’t even plan to color coordinate.

md18

md19

Henry was very interested in all the dog toys.

md20

The frisbee gatherer.

md21

We called this picture “fixing Alyssa.”

md22

The originals.

md24

I adore them.

md23

We love our silly Mama!

md25

md26

I’m obsessed with these two.

md27

md28

My grandparents are cuter than your grandparents. ;)

md29

After a heap of food and photos, we released Jack to entertain us with frisbee-catching skills.

md32

md30

I’m not sure how it was the first time these two really met, but it was hilarious and adorable. Jack seemed afraid that Henry was going to take all his frisbees, so he kept hiding with them. And when we put the pup back inside to rest, Henry roamed around the backyard searching for him saying, “Woof…woof…woof.” My heart exploded.

md31

Happy weekend, loves! :)

A Series of Unrelated Events

Guys. It’s May. How on earth. Let’s pretend we all are caught up on life and fully prepared for this month.

I’m playing catch up again because things are just a tad crazy right now. We’re buried beneath shoots, birthdays, graduations, upcoming vacations…it’s a busy month ahead! But here’s a long list of mostly unrelated photos of what’s been keeping us busy. :)

We ended Andrew’s birthday celebration last week with a day trip to Dallas!

b-02

Original Pancake House is our happy place. ;)

b-03

Amen.

b-01

We wandered around the mall and made the mistake of going into Pottery Barn Kids, where they apparently have tailored the store to give Caitlin and Andrew baby fever.

b-04

Someone please go buy this adorable whale bookend.

b-05

Do you see his face? Star Wars everywhere.

b-06

Also, do they make this collection in a queen? I need it in my life.

b-07

We split the fireside fondue at Fireside Pies because the main reason we go to Dallas is to gain three pounds.

b-08

And because Quail Springs Mall got rid of Sbarro’s, I rekindled my love for it at the Galleria. Truth be told, the breadsticks were better than the pizza.

b-09

Andrew ended the feasting with his favorite thing in the world – Potbelly’s. :)

b-10

This pup was glad to have us home. He’s been really well-behaved lately (knock on wood), and I kinda love it.

b-11

I took some senior pictures of these cutie pies who graduate THIS WEEK, and we celebrated them afterwards with pizza at The Wedge. :)

b-12

b-13

Can we stop and admire this please? They are SO precious.

b-32

On Saturday, we babysat the most perfect child in all the land.

b-14

There’s still too much cuteness to handle.

b-15

Thanks for the hat, Uncle Andrew.

b-16

b-17

We bought him this little car? scooter? truck? vehicle? for his birthday, and I’m super delighted that he seems to like it.

b-18

He’s quickly learning how to work the camera.

b-19

b-20

Model baby.

b-21

b-22

b-23

Saturday night was date night! Andrew and I headed to The Melting Pot to use one of his birthday gifts.

b-24

And sadly, this cheese was literally the worst cheese we’ve ever tasted in our lives. Hahaha. We were pretty bummed.

b-26

BUT Andrew had called ahead to have them put a rose on the table for me, which was the highlight of the evening. ;)

b-25

This is the face of a person who was expecting yummier cheddar.

b-27

Sunday after church and Sunday school, we were on our way home to eat salads, but somehow our car ended up at Deep Deuce with chips and queso. (Apparently we needed redemptive cheese.)

b-31

Sunday night was spent walking and talking with this crew. :)

b-28

This is now in my top 5 favorite photos of Henry.

b-29

Cutest.

b-30

Happy Tuesday, loves! Hope your weeks are wonderful! :)

The 27-Year Old

This man.

a27-1

He is just the greatest person alive. I love any excuse to celebrate him, and we had so much celebratory fun packed into one birthday! :) Naturally, his big day began with a cinnamon roll and Star Wars.

a27-4

Andrew is one of those people who says, “I don’t need anything,” when you ask what they want for their birthday. I browsed Pinterest desperate for ideas and came up with my own version of this little gift.

a27-2

I just really like to rhyme.

a27-10

I won’t show you every page, but we have a busy rest of the year coming full of lots of food and fun!

a27-11

a27-14

a27-12

This present is Jack-approved.

a27-13

After Star Wars and presents, we headed to Andrew’s happy place.

a27-3

Yes, I’d love to celebrate you with pizza. Great plan! ;)

a27-5

We played frisbee in the sunshine with this handsome devil.

a27-6

And we ended with some family bowling at Main Event!

a27-7

I love these cuties!

a27-15

Air hockey may have gotten a little too intense.

a27-16

a27-8

We partied with my fam last night, where Andrew was given a heap of gift cards, food, and Star Wars-related gifts and cards. ;) You’re so loved, hubs. :)

a27-17

Happy weekend!
